Cibulka lookout tower
The Cibulka lookout tower is located in the Ore Mountains near the town of Oloví, close to the border with Germany. It was built in 1908 as a lookout tower on the top of Šibeniční vrch. After many years of dilapidation, it was reconstructed and reopened to the public in 2001.
From the lookout tower you can see Kraslice, the border to Klingental, Smolná, Jindřichovice, Krásná Lípa, you can also see the chimney in Vřesová, Nové Sedlo, Karlovy Vary, Sokolov, Hřebeny, Tisová, the Jesenice reservoir or the Green Mountain near Cheb.
A yellow trail leads to Šibeniční vrch to Cibulka and also a nature trail, which starts in the centre of Oloví near the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The journey to the lookout tower, including stops, takes about two hours. It is necessary to count on a slightly higher elevation at the beginning, then you go along the ridge of the hills, and the return is fast.
