May Day in Kamenice 2026 – Come Celebrate with Us!

Spring is here, and with it one of the most beautiful traditions we have here in Kamenice. We warmly invite you to Májka Kamenice – a traditional Czech May Day celebration featuring a maypole raising and a witch burning, taking place on Friday, May 1st from 4:00 PM at Hospůdka Kamčatka.

What's in Store?

May Day without a maypole simply wouldn't be May Day. Together we'll raise a proper maypole the way it's always been done – with great energy, good company, and the unmistakable feeling of spring in the air. And since witches have no business lingering in Kamenice past the end of April, we'll send them off the right way – with fire and good beer.

Roasting sausages by the maypole is, of course, part of the deal. You can grab your sausages inside Hospůdka Kamčatka and then take them outside to roast over the open fire, under the maypole, surrounded by friends and neighbours. Just the way it should be.

Nothing complicated. Comfortable shoes, a good mood, and an appetite for a roasted sausage. We'll take care of the rest.
